District Overview

Our District
Loveland City School District covers more than 15 miles and overlaps three counties—Hamilton, Clermont, and Warren. The District surrounds the City of Loveland and reaches into Symmes, Goshen, Hamilton, and Miami Townships. Loveland Schools serves a population of 50,000 residents, including the City of Loveland.

If you are interested in moving into the Loveland City School District, please verify that the residence is within the District boundaries. There are many homes that have a Loveland mailing address that are not in the Loveland City School District. The Ohio Department of Taxation's School District Tax Finder provides the school district of residence based on the home’s address.

Auditors for each county served by the District (Hamilton, Warren, and Clermont) also have websites that can verify school district of residence based on an address.

Enrollment
Loveland Schools' current student enrollment is 4,700 and continues to grow as agricultural land is converted into upscale residential property. A professional demographic study conducted in 2004 indicates that enrollment growth will continue at a moderate pace. Projections indicate that total enrollment will exceed 4,800 at the end of the ten-year projection period (2014).

Ohio School District of Excellence
Loveland is recognized by the Ohio Department of Education on their annual report card as "Excellent with Distinction"--the highest rating possible. Loveland has received the distinction of "Excellent" for nine consecutive years. The new rating of "Excellent with Distinction" was put in place two years ago and the District earned this honor both years.

State of the Schools
On
April 30, 2009 the District held a "State of the Schools" meeting featuring a video shot and produced by students in Mr. Jim Barrett’s “Loveland High School News Network” class. The video features Loveland students, staff, programs and other highlights from each of our buildings. The power point presentation (below) was given by Dr. Boys and the District’s administrative team and highlights the district’s finances, curriculum, staffing, current programs and future challenges.

History of Community Support
The Loveland community supports the school district. A $32,000,000 bond issue passed in November 1998 was used to build an additional school building to house grades 5 and 6. The bond issue also funded major remodeling projects throughout the District. In 2000, Loveland High School and Loveland Middle School both received major additions and renovations. That same year, each of the District’s five school buildings also received renovations to the facades and all of Loveland schools now have the same arches to mark the entryways. The District passed a combination 7-mill replacement operating levy and 5-mill permanent improvement (PI) levy in March 2004. The Permanent Improvement levy ensures the continued upkeep and maintenance of the District facilities and grounds.
The District passed a 3.5 mill operating levy in November 2008.
