Gifted Education
The Loveland School District provides opportunities for identifying students in grades kindergarten through twelve who may be gifted. Gifted services are available for eligible students in 3rd through 8th grade. This page provides detailed, up-to-date information about Loveland’s gifted identification plan, program and service offerings, and our ongoing efforts to enhance our programs and services for gifted students.
Board Policy for Identifying Gifted and/or Talented Students
In February, 2000, the Board of Education adopted a policy (pdf) for identifying students who are gifted and/or talented. Our policy follows the guidelines established by the Ohio Department of Education (ODE).
Gifted Identification Plan
On June 30,1999, the Ohio Legislature approved House Bill 282 which, among other things, required that all school districts develop a plan for identifying students as gifted
and/or talented. Loveland Schools developed and submitted a Gifted Identification Plan (pdf).

Gifted Education Handbook
Loveland Gifted Handbook is a handbook that addresses all aspects of gifted identification and services. The handbook provides information on our programs, goals, procedures, and lists resources for parents, students, and teachers.
Acceleration Policies and Procedures
Beginning in the 2006-07 school year, school districts were required to adopt and implement an acceleration policy that addresses early entrance requirements, academic acceleration, and early high school graduation. Below is Information on Loveland’s policies and procedures for acceleration:
