English Language Learners

In Ohio, more than 35,000 limited English proficient (LEP) students were enrolled in the state’s elementary and secondary public schools during the 2006-07 school year. The term English Language Learn refers to individuals who do not speak English as their primary language and who have a limited ability to read, speak, write, or understand English.

Loveland provides services to students with limited English proficiency to help them be more successful in their mainstream classes and meet the challenging state standards required of all students. Students will receive instruction according to their English language proficiency level in listening, speaking, reading, and writing. The District also has specialized computer software to help English Language Learners develop their language skills. For additional information, contact the Office of Teaching and Learning.
