John Marschhausen, Ph.D., Superintendent

John MarschhausenJohn C. Marschhausen, Ph.D. has served as the Superintendent of the Loveland City School District since August 1, 2010. Prior to his arrival in Loveland, Dr. Marschhausen was Superintendent of East Knox Local School District in Howard, Ohio for five years. His earlier years in education were spent as a Principal, Assistant Principal, Athletic Director, Social Studies Teacher, and Coach. Marschhausen has his BA in History/Political Science from Wittenberg University and his MA from University of Dayton. He earned his Doctor of Philosophy, Education from Capella University.

Dr. Marschhausen’s professional involvement includes the Buckeye Association of School Administrators; Ohio School Boards Association; American Association of School Administrators; Midwest Suburban Superintendents Association; Ohio School Leadership Institute; Ohio Digital Learning Task Force; Board President for TRECA Digital Academy, and Alliance for Adequate School Funding.  Dr. Marschhausen served as an adjunct professor with Capella University from 2004 through 2009, a conference presenter at multiple state and national conferences, and guest lecturer at several Ohio universities.

Dr. Marschhausen and his wife Susan have two school-age daughters.  Susan is an 8th grade Language Arts teacher in a neighboring district.  In his spare time, Dr. Marschhausen enjoys running, reading, and spending time with his family.
